Nus

At an altitude of 529 meters amid chestnut groves, fruit trees, meadows, and vineyards, on the orographic left of the Dora River, 12 km from Aosta at the deep gorge leading to the Saint-Barthélemy valley, lies Nus. Our municipality boasts a very diverse territory that extends from the valley floor (the most inhabited part) to the high-altitude villages located on a spectacular sunny balcony, dominated at 3504 m by the Becca di Luseney (Luseney Lack). It is a renowned summer destination for walks and cycling excursions, as well as a winter destination for Nordic ski slopes and snowshoe trails. Exploring the starry sky immersed in the beauty of nature at the astronomical observatory of the Autonomous Region of Valle d'Aosta, located in Lignan, is an opportunity offered by our territory that should not be missed.

As a community, we are characterized by strong associative and economic dynamism. Countless associations guarantee our village an effervescent daily life in terms of proposals and initiatives. Various economic actors in the area have embraced soft tourism, making the beauties of our territory accessible in a context of quality hospitality and social innovation.

Digital services Cluster member

The strategy linked to the theme of digitisation includes support for infrastructure (priority in the municipality's investments will be connection with fibre to guarantee access to services even in the most peripheral areas of the municipal territory). At the same time, the opportunity of digitisation is also seen as a strategy to regenerate relations in the area, hence new technologies not only focused on optimising services but also on their capacity to regenerate relations and social networks in the area.

Hybrid community spaces: HostHello

The hybrid community space is a place managed by an economic entity with social impact (in the case of Nus, a tourist accommodation facility for young people), where local development processes are contaminated and accelerated by other dynamics (in this case, the presence of digital migrants and youth exchanges, etc.). This dynamic is aimed at increasing the participation of young people and strengthening both the relational capital of the community (network) and its capacity for social innovation
